Answers for anyone selling to local businesses

How can I prevent duplicate outreach and suppress contacts?

Default to never-contacted or unique businesses, check contact status and scheduled emails before launch, and re-enroll a business only for a deliberate reason. Replies stop the current sequence, while removal requests suppress the business from all campaigns in your account.

Verify what you will act onEmails are verified before they reach you, so outreach lands with the business.

Use the contact-status filters when building each list. Keep previously contacted businesses out unless you have a clear reason to approach them again with a new campaign or offer.

Before launching, open Business Details for any questionable record. You can review emails already sent or received and see whether more messages are scheduled. The Communication Center also lets you review scheduled emails and unschedule any duplicate.

A normal multi-email sequence is intentional follow-up. When a business replies, it is automatically removed from that campaign's follow-ups. If the reply asks you to stop or remove them, the business is automatically excluded from all campaigns in your account.

Resquared cannot prevent overlap with outreach performed in another tool. Keep existing customers and active deals out of cold-outreach lists, assign ownership across teammates, and use CRM BCC when you need Resquared email activity recorded in your CRM.

What to do

  1. Build lists with never-contacted or unique businesses and review the contact-status filters.
  2. Check Business Details for prior messages and scheduled emails before enrolling a business.
  3. Use the Communication Center to unschedule any duplicate message.
  4. Exclude existing customers, active deals, competitors, and prospects owned by another teammate.
  5. Re-enroll a non-responder only when you have a deliberate new reason to contact them.

Related questions

Are sequence follow-ups duplicate outreach?

No. They are planned follow-ups within one campaign, and the sequence stops automatically when the business replies.

What happens after a removal request?

The business is automatically excluded from all campaigns in your account.

Can I contact a business again if it never replied?

Yes, but do it deliberately. Check its history first and use a meaningfully different campaign, offer, or reason for reaching out.
