How Resquared builds the most complete local business database
Most local business data is one directory, copied and resold. Resquared starts from the other end. We find every digital footprint a brick-and-mortar business leaves, decide which sources to trust for each fact, and keep checking. That is how one database covers 14.7 million local businesses in the US and Canada.
Find every footprint
Public records and filings, the business's own website, social profiles, review sites, maps and listings. One storefront can show up dozens of times under slightly different names, addresses and phone numbers. We resolve them into one business.
Prove the business is real and open
Not every listing is a real, operating business. We score each source on how reliable it is for core identity and existence, and keep a business only when the strongest sources agree.
Pick the best source for every attribute
A source that is right about the address can be wrong about the email. We rank sources separately for each of hundreds of attributes, from emails, phones and decision-maker names to hours, categories and services, and take each value from the source that is strongest for it.
Verify what you will act on
Emails are verified before they reach you, so your outreach lands with the business and not in a bounce report.
Model what nobody publishes
Square footage comes from satellite imagery run through our own machine learning model. Revenue estimates for US businesses use the same kind of modeling.
Read the business itself, continuously
We read businesses' own websites as they change, so services, staff and contact details reflect what the business says today, and the database refreshes continuously.
